Open and closed cell, R-3.7 to R-6.5 per inch

Spray Foam Insulation
in Utah homes.

For spaces where batts cannot seal properly. Foam expands into awkward shapes and seals as it insulates, which is why it earns its cost in the right place.

The job
description.

Spray foam goes on as a liquid and expands in seconds, filling around obstructions and into corners that pre-cut material cannot reach. Because it seals as it goes, there is no separate gap-filling step.

We fit both types. Open-cell is lighter, better for sound and suits irregular framing. Closed-cell is denser, does more per inch and resists moisture, which is why it goes on rim joists and crawl space walls.

Sound familiar

Signs this is the
job your house needs.

If more than one of these sounds like your home, they usually share a cause, and it is usually this one.

The framing in the space is uneven or full of obstructions

You have a vaulted or cathedral ceiling

Batts have been fitted before and it is still cold

The space is shallow and there is no room for depth

Damp is part of the problem as well as cold

The space is assessed01

The space is assessed

Framing, obstructions and moisture all checked, so we can tell you which type of foam the space calls for.

Existing material removed02

Existing material removed

Anything already in the cavity comes out first, since foam needs a clean surface to bond to properly.

Foam applied03

Foam applied

Open or closed cell applied in controlled passes to the specified thickness, rather than in one heavy coat.

Ventilated and cleared04

Ventilated and cleared

Space ventilated, foam trimmed back where needed, and everything cleaned before we hand it over.

Common questions

About this
job.

If yours is not here, ask us on the phone.

01Open or closed cell, which do I need?
Closed-cell where moisture or shallow depth is the issue, open-cell where sound and awkward framing are. We decide at the visit and explain which one your space calls for and why.
02Do we need to leave the house?
Not usually the whole house, but we ask people to stay out of the immediate area during application and while it cures, which is a few hours. We ventilate throughout.
03Can foam go over old insulation?
No. It needs a clean surface to bond to, so existing material comes out first. That removal is part of the quote rather than an extra on the day.
04Why is foam more expensive?
The material costs more and it takes trained crew and specialist equipment. In the right space it does things batts cannot, and in the wrong space we will suggest something cheaper.
